«Cyrillica» studios provide localization services for PC, console, mobile and MMO games by adapting their in-game contents and supplemental materials. Game localization is performed by experienced translators and editors with vast gaming experience. Not only are they acquainted with specific terms and slang, but are ready and happy to learn the lore and mechanics of their future projects, thus providing for players full immersion and ultimate gaming experience, and letting them enjoy the gameplay and story in their native languages.
Translation and editing of in-game content
Translation and editing are two core processes of localization, crucial for delivering high-quality product. In «Cyrillica», these tasks are delegated to be performed by native speakers with large experience in localization, as well as in gaming.
LQA (Language Quality Assurance) is a linguistic testing of in-game content. This is the final step of localization when native speakers proofread the content of a video game, marking mistakes and inaccuracies.
LQA combines two simultaneous processes: proofreading and text inspection for compliance with technical requirements (which includes searching and reporting problems with display of graphics). Proofreading is executed in a special program, with exclusive access by studio and the contractor.
Voice-over and sound design
Professional voice-over is critical to localization, just as natural background sounds and authentic character voices are critical to players’ perception. It helps them immerse into the unique atmosphere and spirit of their games. One of the components of qualitative voice-over is sound design, which stands for creating and editing of video game’s audio files. Sound designers work with background and foreground sounds, and are in charge of sound processing. Usually sound designers work with pre-recorded audio files, which helps them to create special effects and set up the mood.
